Panathinaikos vs Olimpia Milano (By: Miyagi)
There are a lot of things going on for Panathinaikos right now as coach Pasqual was fired yesterday and the players were fined for their poor performances. Infamous NCAA coach Patino is expected to take over soon at the same time that players like Gist and Lasme are close to exit the club. Of course, things are not better on the other side, where Milano has now lost 5 straight EL games! The time where everything went right for them and they made a habit of winning games they were not supposed to (according to their performances) is over for good and now there is only pressure left on the players and the coach.
Simply, Panathinaikos will have changes in their lineup and the players' playing time along with a lot of pressure both for playing at home in a packed stadium and since a lot of them know that their future is on the line, thus any attempts for predictions are based on pure luck and hunch.
Yet, there is something that's worth a bet and that is Calathes assists. No matter what changes will be made, Calathes is certainly the one that will stay on the court for the biggest part of the game and the one that will carry his side once again. Calathes averages 7.8 assists per game in EL but his actual number is a bit more than 10 per game at home, where Panathinaikos is a completely different team. Milano has defensive struggles and their front line's slow reactions and lack of concentrations is a major issue and Calathes' vision and passing abilities are out of this world, so no question as to whether he can take advantage of that. All in all, he should have another 12 assists game at home here and help his team which is in desperate need for wins.
