Panathinaikos vs Darussafaka
This is a match between two struggling teams that are looking to end their losing streaks. Panathinaikos is underperforming for quite a while now, they have lost 4 of their last 5 EL games and they find themselves with a negative record for the first time this season. Bad news for them is that today they will miss SF Papapetrou (7.1p) and second best scorer SF Lojeski (9.2p), on the other hand, playing at home gives them a massive advantage but also obligation towards their 10.000 season ticket holders who are starting to show their disappointment.
Darrussafaka enters this one with a terrible streak of 9 straight loses in EL although they are performing better recently, lost their last 3 by less than 5 points difference and blew a huge chance to take the win in their last one against Maccabi. The good news for them is that coach Selcuk Ernak will make his debut in their bench today in an attempt to improve the team's morale and performances. Forward J. Evans is still sidelined for Daru.
This is a tough game with many question marks and those high lines don't help for predictions since Panathinaikos is under heavy pressure, missing players and Daru will play for their newly appointed coach for the first time.
Though there is still something worth to chase in this game and that's Thomas' points. Panathinaikos has trouble in SF position with two first option players missing this game and Antetokunmpo (missed the last domestic game) returning from injury with his status questionable, so the burden once again falls on Thomas who will have to play extra minutes here for the second straight game. He played 34 minutes (13p, 9reb) with a good performance a few days ago for the Greek league. Thomas averages 8.7p in EL (11.5p in Greek Basket league) and he should have a decent game playing in a position that Daru has struggled defensively and given his low line, there is some value here.
