Sydney FC vs Wellington Phoenix (By: Stanioooo)
Sydney will host Wellington Phoenix in the 7th round of A-League at Jubilee Stadium.
All teams in the league are still looking for better form and till now Sydney are 3rd in the table, while Wellington are 9th from 10 clubs. Sydney won the league during the last season with big difference ahead ot Jets, Melbourne City and Victory, but couldn't win the Finals Series, where they lost to Victory in the SFs. This season they changed a few things like the stadium- their own one will be renovated, that's why they will play their home games at Jubilee Stadium. The fans of the club agreed with the decision+ the the players and the staff. Also they sold maybe their best and most valuable player Bobo+ a few other quality players, but took their very good replacements. I don't know why so many experts think this club will fight for their place in top 3 or top 4 this season, while I still don't see any other club more stable than them. Only Victory can be target as the main rival because they also signed with excellent players like Honda and Toivonen.
Sydney have excellent H2H against Wellington and their last three home games against them finished 4:0/3:2/3:1. They know how to dominate and beat them even with difference and today they will have that good chance to make it again.
Why am I going with -1.5 AH for the hosts? First of all, it's because of the quality difference of the players, secondly because it's a home game for the better club and thirdly and maybe it's the most important of all- Daniel De Silva(MF) and Siem De Jong(MF) are part of the group after De Silva was out because of unavailability due to loan agreement, while the ex-star of Ajax Siem De Jong is finally available to play after his injury. These two can freshen the midfield line a lot for sure and can help Lo Fondre a lot scoring goals with great assists. The main player Sydney have to watch in their opponent's squad is Krishna.
Sydney can not rely on Ben Warland(CB), Trent Buhagiar(winger) and Chris Zuvela(MF), while the guests will be without the injured first GK Kurto and Ryan Lowry(CB) who is suspended for one game.
I expect one very open game where the hosts will try to score an early goal to put their opponents on even higher pressure. The other 4 teams which are now part of top 5(without the 3rd Sydney) will play each other during this round, so that's the perfect chance for Sydney even to progress in the ranking. I think they will dominate and will score at least two times tomorrow.
3:1 is my correct score prediction.
