Liechtenstein vs Armenia (By: Stanioooo)
Liechtenstein will host Armenia in the last match of Group 4 in League D at Rheinpark Stadion.
Liechtenstein are last in the group with only 3 points after a home win with 2:0 against Gibraltar. Armenia are second in the table with 9 points after 3 wins and 2 losses. They are 3 points behind the leaders Macedonia, so their chances to take the 1st place in the group are about 1% for me. The only chance Armenia to take the 1st place is to beat Liechtenstein tonight and Gibraltar to beat Macedonia in Skopie. Armenian players and fans understand this is highly impossible to happen and Macedonia to repeat their mistake they made in October, when Armenia lost at home against Gibraltar with 0:1. This loss is looking to decide the outcome of the group and Macedonia to earn the promotion for League C. The Armenian fans still can not forgive their players how in a group with Macedonia(they have positive H2H after 3 points for each team, but Armenia have better goal difference 4:2) + Gibraltar and Liechtenstein(one of the poorest European countries), Armenia will miss to take the 1st place and to be promoted. That was maybe the easiest group in League D with only one team from their class(Macedonia) and two teams which they have to beat twice for sure.
The Armenian players finally started to score goals and in the last 2 games they scored 10 goals after 4:0 against Macedonia and 2:6 against Gibraltar. Their striker Yura Movsisyan from Chicago Fire is really on fire right now scoring 5 of these 10 goals. I am absolutely confident Armenia will visit Liechtenstein in Vaduz only with the thought to win the game and maybe to make it once again in style. Still they will finish 2nd almost for sure, but the players and their fans will be a little bit more optimistic before the qualifications for Euro 2020.
Liechtenstein will miss their main centre-back Wieser for this game, together with Philipp Ospelt, Niklas Klieber and Simon Kuhne. Armenia will be without Pizzelli, Artur Sarkisov and Hrayr Mkoyan.
In their first game in Armenia, the Armenians dominated, but won closely with 2:1 after missed penalty and a lot of goal chances. They had problems with scoring goals in the first part of this group matches, but the home game against Macedonia somehow reborn the players and goals can come from everywhere right now. With players like Movsisyan, Mkhitaryan and Ghazaryan we can expect them to create a lot of goal opportunities in Vaduz and I think the missing of Marcos Pizzelli even has a positive result. Now Mkhitaryan plays behind Movsisyan and they look even sharper in attack.
I expect Armenian players to look for absolutely required win in Vaduz. They know it will not lead to the top of the table, but it's very important for the confidence of the players and of course, for their nation. I am going with -1.5 AH for the Armenians here. For me, Liechtenstein are the second worst European team right now after San Marino. They lost in a friendly match during 2018 even against Andorra with 0:1, so the quality of the players in this country is looking really poor.
