Spain vs England
Spain will host England in the 3rd round of group 4 in league A. The match will be played at Estadio Benito Villamarin in Sevilla.
The situation in the group is: Spain- 6 points, England- 1 point, Croatia- 1 point. As you can see a draw against England will be absolutely enough for Spain to guarantee themselves the 1st place, because they will have 5 points advantage of England with one match left for both teams. There is a theoretical chance Croatia to finish infront of them, if we see a draw between Spain and England, but it can happen only if Croatia beat England and then Spain with at least 6 goals difference, because Spain outplayed them with 6:0 at home. So, I think we will see much more motivated Spaniard than English side, because the visitors have minor chances to qualify in the 1st place after they lost 1:2 at home against Spain a month ago.
What is the situation in both teams. Well, Spain are flying so high after the team was taken by Luis Enrique. They earned 6:0 win over the silver medalists of the WC Croatia and also an important 1:2 win against England as guests. Three days ago they destroyed Wales as visitors with 1:4 after brilliant first half. Their midfield looks phenomenal even without Isco, but what to talk about the attack. Paco Alcacer is maybe in the form of his life in Dortmund, Rodrigo also scored in both Nations league matches for Spain, together with Saul Niguez. Enrique made a lot of changes in the friendly match against Wales and now is expected to use his best for the England's challenge.
De Gea; Jose Gaya, Nacho, Ramos, Azpilicueta; Saul Niguez, Busquets, Thiago; Asensio, Rodrigo, Alcacer
The main problems for the coach are connected with the injured Carvajal and Isco, who is still not ready to play. Of course, Alonso can start in the left flang instead of Gaya and maybe Ceballos or Koke can start in the midfield, but we will see what Enrique will decide. Morata and Suso are expected to be on the bench.
On the other side is England. Southgate's team is full of problems before the visit in Spain. Jordan Henderson and John Stones are both suspended, while Luke Shaw, Danny Rose, Alex McCarthy, James Tarkowski and Danny Welbeck are all out due to injuries. We can see a few unexperienced players in England's group, but that's normal, because of all these problems they have. That means it's more than possible to see players like Joe Gomez, Ben Chilwell, Barkley and so on in the starting line-up.
England started with a home loss against Spain 1:2 in a very balanced match, but still Spain deserved a little bit more the win. Two days ago they made a goalless draw away against Croatia and I don't think their self-confidence is high right now after the brilliant performances during the WC in Russia. When we take the problems they will have infront of the visit in Spain, I am not optimistic about their chances to take something from this game.
Pickford; Walker, Gomez, Maguire, Chilwell; Maddison, Dier, Barkley; Sterling, Kane, Rashford
My prediction is clear: Spain to win the match at about 1.65-1.70 odds in both Pinnacle and bet 365. With Luis Enrique as a head coach and such a brilliant form of the main players in their squad+home support, I can't see England to take even the draw. Spain are hungry for success after the elimination in the 1/8 finals of the WC via penalties by Russia. Spain will absolutely dominate this England's midfield and when we count that Kane is in poor form, their hope is connected mostly with Rashford, who scored the two goals in three England's games after the end of the WC.
Spain-England- 2:0/3:1 is my prediction for this match as a correct score.
