Greece vs Hungary (By: Stanioooo)

Greece will host Hungary in a match grom group 2 in league C.

Strangely or not Finland are the leaders in the group where only the 1st place will give you direct promotion to league B. The fourth team in the group is Estonia, which team looks like the big outsider. Finland won both home games against Hungary and Estonia, so now the pressure is totally on Greece, which team is the big favourite for the 1st place. Greece started with an away win over Estonia 0:1, but strangely or not they lost in their away match against Hungary. The Greek side have the control over the match, more possession, more shots on and off target, more corner and free kicks, but made so many misses especially during the 2nd half, which stopped them to take something from Hungary. Now they are eager to take a revenge for sure. When Greece have to take an important win, they just do it, mostly when their opponent is in bad form!

Hungary are in tremendiously bad form in the last couple of years and that reflected on their ranking. They are not scary, especially when they have to play as guests, even to the smallest countries in Europe and the results proved it. In the last couple of years they not only lost against Finland as guests with 1:0(it happened in September), but also against teams like Luxembourg, even Andorra and a draw against Faroe Islands. Pretty embarrassing results.. Hungary can not be favourites right now as guests even to middle-ranked European countries, what to expect against Greece.

Kyriakos Papadopoulos, Kostas Stafylidis, Stefanos Kapino and Tasos Donis are injured, while midfielders Andreas Samaris and Giannis Maniatis missed out call-ups. About Hungary Endre Botka and Ádám Kovácsik are injured, while Nemanja Nikolić has retired from international football.

Greece started the away game against Hungary with some surprising changes which maybe reflected on their performance and the result on half time. Mitroglou entered the game as a substitution, but today he has to lead the attack, supported by Fortounis and Pelkas. Yesterday I was confident Serbia will beat Montenegro easier than Romania can take the win against Lithuania and it happened. Today I expect the same if I make a comparison for example between this match and the Belgium home game against Switzerland. Greece are huge favourites for me here, because a new mistake against Hungary and a possible away win for Finland against Estonia can lead to BIG problems about taking the 1st place in the group and promotion to league B!

Greece should win but an alternative is Greece to have a lot more corners than Hungary in this match. Last month in Hungary, Greece had 6 corners while the hosts 1.

Based on play style, stats and motivation Greece should reach 7+ corners while Hungary up to 3.

Greece -1.5 corners @1.75 (betano) ,similar and even -2.5 will go through 9 times out of 10.

Good pick. Agree with all.

Don't know about corners cause coach's @$$ is on the line and he might approach this one very carefully, keep bodies behind and look for that single goal. Anyway, quality is on our side and should somehow win this one at home.

Of course but Greece has the same style and the same 4-2-3-1 like last month and before. I see Greece dominating and having possession 60%+ like in the last match. Both bets should win but I just see corners as a better bet. I personally took Greece over 3.5 corners 1st half @3.25 but everything is a risk.

I wouldn't bet on Greece at these odds no matter what!!!

A couple of years ago i wouldn't either but things changed, Greece is far more talented up front.

Good win, neighbours. Now it's time to show Finland who's ruling the group :))
