Lithuania vs Romania
Lithuania showed very little so far in the UEFA Nation's League. In the first round, the team suffered narrow 1:0 loss against Serbia, having only some chances via counter-attacks, while the ball possession was more or less completely in the hands of the Serbs. As for the second round game, they visited Montenegro and once again got outplayed with a 2:0 result last month.
Similar to the first round game, they weren't the ones who had control over the match. The hosts took the double lead in the first halftime thanks to goals from Savic and Jankovic and remained with the lead and control without much of the trouble. It's already obvious that Lithuanians can't count on some special things here and now will need to strive how to seek how to avoid relegation being drawn in an obviously pretty difficult group for them.
In comparison to previous few call-ups, defenders Tomas Mikuckic (Spartaks Jurmala), Vytautas Andriuskevicius (D.C. United) and forwards Karolis Laukzemis (Istra) and Nerijus Valskis (Ratchaburi) weren't invited for this one.
Romania probably didn't open the UEFA Nation's League the way they wanted, but the team is still in contention to reach the first position. Of course, some improvement will be needed as both of their opponents for the top spot did show somehow more till now in the competition.
The first round match saw the Romanians taking just a draw at home against Montenegro in a goalless game. They had more of the ball possession and even though it looked like they were in control, simply there was not much intensity in their game and not enough concrete chances created.
As for the second game, they visited Serbia and managed to take a point in a 2:2 game only thanks to really poor reactions of Serbian defense. Their hosts were a better side and probably would have gotten a victory on some other day. With two points on their record, the Romanians now need to seek a victory here in order to stay competitive for the top spot.
In comparison to previous matches, the guests will be without defenders Mihai Balasa (FCSB), Vlad Chiriches (Napoli), midfielders Constantin Budescu (Al-Shabab), Mihai Pintilii (FCSB), Eric Bicfalvi (Ural Yekaterinburg) and forward Florin Andone (Brighton).
From what I've seen in the first rounds last month, betting on Romania to win & Under 2.5 goals have plenty of value. Lithuanians are going nowhere with their quality, game style and form in this group and can hardly score, while the visitors do have more quality, but can't create so much concrete chances to make this a very comfortable victory for themselves. Quality however, is completely with the away team.
