Lithuania vs Romania

Lithuania showed very little so far in the UEFA Nation's League. In the first round, the team suffered narrow 1:0 loss against Serbia, having only some chances via counter-attacks, while the ball possession was more or less completely in the hands of the Serbs. As for the second round game, they visited Montenegro and once again got outplayed with a 2:0 result last month.

Similar to the first round game, they weren't the ones who had control over the match. The hosts took the double lead in the first halftime thanks to goals from Savic and Jankovic and remained with the lead and control without much of the trouble. It's already obvious that Lithuanians can't count on some special things here and now will need to strive how to seek how to avoid relegation being drawn in an obviously pretty difficult group for them.

In comparison to previous few call-ups, defenders Tomas Mikuckic (Spartaks Jurmala), Vytautas Andriuskevicius (D.C. United) and forwards Karolis Laukzemis (Istra) and Nerijus Valskis (Ratchaburi) weren't invited for this one.

Romania probably didn't open the UEFA Nation's League the way they wanted, but the team is still in contention to reach the first position. Of course, some improvement will be needed as both of their opponents for the top spot did show somehow more till now in the competition.

The first round match saw the Romanians taking just a draw at home against Montenegro in a goalless game. They had more of the ball possession and even though it looked like they were in control, simply there was not much intensity in their game and not enough concrete chances created.

As for the second game, they visited Serbia and managed to take a point in a 2:2 game only thanks to really poor reactions of Serbian defense. Their hosts were a better side and probably would have gotten a victory on some other day. With two points on their record, the Romanians now need to seek a victory here in order to stay competitive for the top spot.

In comparison to previous matches, the guests will be without defenders Mihai Balasa (FCSB), Vlad Chiriches (Napoli), midfielders Constantin Budescu (Al-Shabab), Mihai Pintilii (FCSB), Eric Bicfalvi (Ural Yekaterinburg) and forward Florin Andone (Brighton).

From what I've seen in the first rounds last month, betting on Romania to win & Under 2.5 goals have plenty of value. Lithuanians are going nowhere with their quality, game style and form in this group and can hardly score, while the visitors do have more quality, but can't create so much concrete chances to make this a very comfortable victory for themselves. Quality however, is completely with the away team.

My country had one great chemistry and set pieces match in Serbia. The match was fully equal from both sides but with Romania missing somehow the controlling technique as usually. The space created were not by the experience as Serbia showed but with the fear of passing to each other not to ruin the chance. Somehow Romania scored twice and was more efficient than Serbia. This lack of incompatibility of Romania is shown in most of the cases because players got no teamwork despite the fact that many of them got big clubs like Mainz, Napoli, Ludogorets and so on. But regarding that Romania is a champion in friendlies and this is a friendly one, Romania should win.

Thanks for your feedback, appreciate it :) But it's not a friendly game no matter how serious or not the teams take it :)

It's good to read your predictions after a short while. I go 100% for this tip. To Miaunel I say these matches teams have something to play for and therefore can not be equated to a freindly match. UEFA Nation's League is onother ticket for the upcoming EURO qualifiers.
