Young Boys vs St Gallen

Switzerland, Super League, 8th round

If something works well, there is no reason to change it. That being said, betting on Young Boys was highly profitable in this season so I think there is no reason to pass their games as long they play like this. And they really were too dominant. So far 7 rounds and max 21 pts for Young Boys. Compared with their biggest rival Basel, it is already huge 12 pts advantage. Yes, it was due to poor Basel performances but also due to amazing Young Boys' form. After all, the host has showed also in Europe (qualified for the group stage of the Champions League) how good they are.

In Swiss Super League seems YB wont have any serious competition this season, at least not here at home. So far YB is 4-0-0 on their own stadium and with amazing 18:3 goal difference in those 4 games. Only in last two games here at home YB has scored 12 goals, 7 of those were against Basel who is supposed to be their main rival. That was the match during the weekend.

I think this dominance will continue also today.

St. Gallen currently is on the high 3rd position but it's still big 10 pts deficit compared with league leader (3-2-2 for them so far). Plus it's a league of only 10 teams so being currently early in the season on the third position does not need to mean much.

Last season for example, ST. Gallen ended as 5th. In four mutual games with Young Boys they were not exactly too competitive. Except one 2:2 draw at home, those were all easy defeats. The other home game ended with 2:4 while two games where Young Boys was the host ended with 6:1 and 2:0 scores.

Sow and Wuthrich are injured in the home team while Itten and Luchinger from the same reason are out in the team of St. Gallen.
