Ostersunds vs Malmo
While Malmo are continuing to line up victories, Ostersunds are doing the opposite and currently hold a run of three consecutive losses in Allsvenskan. Part of that belongs to the fact that many things have changed in Ostersunds, such as long term coach Graham Potter moving to Swansea which must be the biggest impact.
Moreover, top scorer Saman Ghoddos (15/9) transferred to Amiens, and prior to that they have lost main center back and key winger as well. If that was not enough, their captain Brwa Nouri moved to Indonesia. It is simply a club on the decline or rebuild, which is currently too much to handle for Ostersunds. We might see them rise again next season as they have strong finances available
On the manager front, Ian Burchnall is in charge and tries to play a similar football as to his predecessor Graham Potter. They are both from England, and much of the play is possession based on their artificial turf.
Malmo are still undefeated in Allsvenskan since Uwe Roesler took over the manager job. His undefeated run has often been on the headlines and the question is how far it can go. At the moment, Malmo and AIK are the two teams who are constantly winning and battling each other for the title it seems.
Malmo currently experience a lot of harmony in the club. They have reached the Europa League group stage after beating Midtjylland, which means that captain striker Markus Rosenberg will seemingly have a worthy ending of his career after this season. The icon striker has been very important for Malmo this season as he typically always is, but also the forward companion and new arrival from Leeds, Marcus Antonsson has started to offload Rosenberg with the goal scoring. On the inner midfield, Anders Christiansen returned from Gent and looks to become the exact key player that he was in the last season as well.
The momentum is currently with Malmo. It is a team with six straight victories in Allsvenskan and hopes to put pressure on AIK for the championship. The city has come together after the horrible start to the season. Ostersund had a great time as well but are on the gradual decline with a thin squad in particular. With three straight losses in their backs and a team without any leaders, I find it hard to believe they will gain something from this. For that reason, the prediction is for Malmo to continue their winning ways
