Clermont vs Auxerre

Clermont – Auxerre

Clermont had a slow start in this season, having only 2 points after first 4 rounds (thanks to 2 of 0-0). They made quite a good game versus Metz – the actual leader- being up 2-0 at some point in game. But ended with a loss, 2-3 conceding couple of minutes before the end of the game. I think they are the single team who lead the incontestable leader Metz so far in championship. But they seems to be on a ascendant path wining last 2 games without conceding, last one in a clear manner 4-0 on the road at Valenciennes. So for the moment they are mid table 2ith 8 points. They loaned Douline in last days of transfer. Laporte is still missing.

Auxerre, as in previous season, had a difficult start, taking only 6 points in first six rounds. Two wins (one at home + one on the road) and four defeats for the Pablo Correa’s boys which is way too little for a talented squad Auxerre possess. For me is quite questionable why Auxerre perform in such poor manner. Remember also happened in previous season when had a poor first part of the season but an incredible good start of second part of the season – saving for sure the first poor part. With the actual squad, I rate Auxerre as 3rd team but they seem to contradict me. Quite active in last days of transfer: left the team Bouchard and Sissako but came in Michel (who will replace Boucher and I remember he had excellent evolution in Ligue 2 couple of seasons ago with Nimes) and Ketkeophomphone both came from Angers. Ex- Clermont striker Dugimont will not make the traveling here due to a “strategic” injury. Also A Ba will not travel at Clermont.

Will both teams finally explode upfront? There is enough potential in both attacking compartment. Perhaps an overish game. Gl
