Clyde vs Albion Rovers

The International break is over so it's time for club football to return. In Scotland League Two Clyde welcome bottom club Albion Rovers.

Clyde, like for the last few seasons are one of the favourites for promotion. Previously they haven't realized this potential and have struggled for the most part of the past seasons. This season, they seem a little more prepared and have started the season much better. Currently sitting in 4th position they have won 3 of their 5 games with the 2 losses coming against the top 2 sides in the league table, Edinburgh City and Peterhead.

Since joining Clyde, David Goodwillie has scored for fun, mainly last season where he scored 25 from his 36 games. He's carried on this season scoring 3 from his first 4 matches. Basically he is too good for this level and has Premiership experience.

Albion Rovers are a club in crisis. Relegated from League One last season they lost their star players and are now left with a very young squad. They've lost their last 11 matches in all competitions and 10 of those were by 2 or more goals. It's hard to see how they won't finish bottom of the league this season, to the relief of Cowdenbeath!

It's really hard to avoid this bet.

So either one or both statements were completely wrong.

Either Clyde is still not serious about promotion or Albion Rovers are not a bunch of useless teens after all. Maybe both… who knows.

It was a good read though even if it wasn't true.
