Vereya vs Septemvri Sofia
Last match from the 1st round in Bulgarian Parva Liga between Vereya Stara Zagora and Septemvri Sofia.
Vereya were part of top 6 during the last season and played in Champions group together with teams like Ludogorets, CSKA Sofia, Levski Sofia, Botev Plovdiv and Beroe Stara Zagora. That was really promising by them, but then the nightmare started. In all these 10 matches(5 at home and 5 away) they recorded only 1 draw and 9 losses, scoring just in two of them, when they lost 5:1 against CSKA and when they made a draw 2:2 against Botev Plovdiv. The unpleasant things just followed all of the losses. Almost all of the starting line-up left the club, because of financial problems. Valeri Domovchiyski(main striker) went to Botev Vratsa, another main striker Ventsislav Hristov went to Arda, Georgi Andonov(striker) also left Vereya, Ventsislav Bengyuzov(important MF) left the club and his new is still under question, Veselin Minev(important left back) went to Tsarsko selo, together with Plamen Tenev(right back), Ulysse Ndong(defensive midfielder), Hussein Suleimani(defender), Mohamed Chemlal(attacking midfielder), Iliyan Yordanov(midfielder), Georgi Valchev(midfielder) and Plamen Kolev(goalkeeper). You can easily see it's more than one football starting line-up which left the club and most of them were main players in Vereya. They signed some new players, but only one of them is noticable and that's Stanislav Malamov from their today's opponent Septemvri Sofia. All of the other players are really questionable as quality- GK from Pirin Blagoevgrad Georgi Georgiev, Emin Ahmed(right back) from Nessebar- he was there on loan and had just 6 matches during the last season, together with the foreighers Chorupis and Emil Peter Jorgensen(defender) who played in the amateur Denmark team Boldklubben Frem. it's still unknown how many players they can sign in the next weeks, because the lack of players is really huge. It's also important to have some class to save their little chances for survival this season.
Vereya also have a new manager who worked in Indonesia during the last season. He has the quality to be Vereya's coach, but it will be really tough to take them out of the mess with such amount of players and I don't know, maybe a few more of the players can leave, if they find better options for their future. In their three friendlies they earned three losses by Botev Plovdiv, Hajduk Split and Slaven without scoring a goal.
Septemvri are the youngest team in our league with brilliant youth academy. A lot of Bulgarian players in the national teams under 19,20 and 21 years are part of Septemvri. Their team looks to have bright future, cause they rely on big part of them. Most of the players from the previous season are the same with a few new improvements. Georgi Rusev(MF) comes in Septemvri from Elche, together with Zdravko Dimitrov(MF) from Lokomotiv Sofia, Aleksandar Georgiev(MF) from CSKA , Osman Diabi(defender) from Osmanlispor and Aleksandru Bengu(Romanian defender) from Sandecja Nowy Sacz(Poland). A few players left the club, but noticable are only Stanislav Malamov who went as I said in Vereya and Martin Toshev in Lebanon football club.
Septemvri made a lot of friendlies and didn't have a loss in all of them. All of the opponents were from Bulgaria which is in help for today's game against Vereya. In one of them they even beat Levski Sofia with 2:1. BTTS are typical for all of the friendlies, but against an opponent like Vereya without a quality striker it's not so sure they will receive a goal.
It will be shocking for me to see any different outcome than an away win here. Guests are in better position for sure in the start of the season and H2H they had two wins 2:0 and 1:0 against Vereya during 2017/2018.
