Napredak vs Rad
Serbian Super Liga, Round 1
In city of Kruševac, Napredak will host Rad. For me this should be clear home win and I am going with Napredak -1 AH.
If you are looking for a team in Serbia who is the most trustworthy to bet on (beside Crvena zvezda and Partizan), then it's Napredak. This is one good team, with experienced coach, nice stadium (10K), solid support. The bottom line, not easy place to visit. After all, here even best Serbian teams regularly losing points. Last season wasn't exception. Namely Napredak here defeated both, CZ and Partizan. What more, they took point against those opponents also on the road games in Belgrade. When the final stage arrived (Champions group), Crvena zvezda finally won the game here while Partizan even then remained without victory (draw) against Napredak although it was game in Belgrade.
So, out of six games against two by far best Serbian teams, Napredak lost only one while won twice and with three draws (at home 2-0-1, away 0-3-0). No one in Serbia can be bragging about such good results against CZ and Partizan.
This season ambitions of Napredak are the same, to be among better teams while here at home to win against everyone. Given that Napredak mainly saved the team from season ago, I think no one can count on points on this visit, at least not those opponents like FC Rad who were in the playout group season ago.
When we are talking about Rad, they barely survived back then, were only 2 pts above relegation. And all that with numerous victories late in the season. At one point Rad already looked as a team who would be relegated.
By the words of the Napredak head coach Milorad Kosanović, no one important left the team. His only regret is that young and talented Nigerian player, Jesse Sekidika moved to Turkey. Napredak signed during summer few new guys, Marinković and Baha (player from Cameroon) plus they will be stronger now for very experienced defender Alivodić.
Napredak final part of the preseason spent in Portugal where they competed on the strong tournament with Benfica and Setubal. Benfica of course was too strong for them, 3:0 while against Setubal, Napredak showed they can play on such higher level although it was another loss. Back then Napredak was leading at half time but after (by their words) bad refs decisions and red card, they lost at the end.
As for Rad, Njegoš Petrović wont play today due to injury. In this team announced how their aim this season is first half of the standing and thus to avoid relegation trouble from season ago. But to be honest I don't see it. IMO Rad will be again among those weaker teams. I especially don't trust to their coach Milinković who was on many different places and mainly was fired at the end. In one period he was also in Vojvodina while his peak (the best team he coached) was as head coach of Partizan (2015) and that was remembered as the worst season for Partizan when they were at one point 30+ pts in deficit compared with Crvena zvezda.
