GAIS vs AFC Eskilstuna (By: Iniestaone)
This might be the best match in Sweden tomorrow (Friday), even better than the Allsvenskan encounter between BP and Kalmar. GAIS is hosting AFC Eskilstuna in Gothenburg in what I believe will end in a stalemate.
GAIS is placed 12th right now, 1 spot above the relegatio zone with 6 goals scored and 8 conceded. They've only won 2 of their first 7 games which is not good for a team that was tipped to be a promotion contender this season. They have however had a rough schedule, just recently they've had to make two away trips in a row to Helsingborg and Halmstad and they lost both those matches.
AFC has made a good transition from Allsvenskan to Superettan, they are placed third with 4 wins, 13 goals scored and 4 conceded. This season they have a very young team and they play fun and creative football. The match against GAIS will be a hard challenge for them as the Gothenburgians have a strong defence, especially when playing at home.
AFC has a fantastic match analyst in their coaching staff, the Spaniard Miguel Zamora who has been praised for the way he reads opponents. In this case I am sure he hasn't had a hard time reading Bosko Orovic's GAIS team: they are easily closed down and when they see their space reduced, they can't score goals. Their inability to adapt to tight matches is in my opinion the main reason for their lack of goals scored so far (less than 1 per match, 6 goals in 7 matches).
The one injury worth mentioning is Mijaljevic who was GAIS top scorer last two seasons. He now plays for AFC but he has been ruled out for the rest of the season, he was supposed to be the main threat up front and he looked great during the pre season but he was injured in the very first match against Brage.
I see a tight match here between two fairly equal teams and a 0-0/1-1 scoreline. They should cancel each other out.
