Brechin vs St Mirren

This could be a huge day for St Mirren. If they beat Brechin City, which is expected, and Livingston drop points at home to Morton, the Paisley side will be crowned champions of the Championship.

This is a match between 2 sides who have had completely different fortunes this season. Brechin City are relegated, deservedly, and have only amassed 4 points in what has been a shocking campaign without any league win whatsoever.

Last time out they were thumped 4-0 by Inverness and looking at the stats it could have been so much worse.

Brechin have failed in an appeal to get their captain Paul McLean's suspension overturned after he and Sean Crighton were sent over against Falkirk. Both defenders will be missing as Crighton will serve the 2nd of his 2 game ban. With those 2 being regular defenders for Brechin this will almost certainly weaken their already poor defence.

St Mirren have been fantastic all season and can thank Gavin Reilly, Cameron Smith and Lewis Morgan who have bagged most of their goals between them. They will win the league but do need those few extra points to confirm it. Who better to get them against than the side rock bottom?

There is no better motivation for St Mirren to go out and win this match like the champions they will soon be.
