Rochdale vs Shrewsbury
Rochdale host the League One leaders Shrewbury Town at the Crown Oil Arena as they cling on to their fading hopes of survival.
The home side haven't quite hit expectations this season in the league and despite a good FA Cup run they have disappointed overall. Cup runs for lower league sides are great financially but they never seem to reflect the same desire in their league performances, often resulting in the side struggling in their respective division. The same appears to have happened to Rochdale. A great 2-2 home draw against Tottenham has been followed by a winless home record in their 4 games since.
They currently trail Oldham in 20th by 5 points with 10 games remaining in the season. Survival is possible, but not if they don't start picking up 3 points from their games. Dale do have the worst home record in the league, a typical trait of a side on their way down.
Shrewsbury are one of the surprises of the season. Currently sitting at the top of the league after 38 games. The bookies have underrated the Shropshire outfit all season and have constantly offered fantastic value with this game being no different. Come the end of the season they will likely miss out on automatic promotion but you wouldn't bet against them going up via the play-offs at least.
Steffan Payne was recalled to the starting line-up for the last match against Wimbledon and went on to net his 13th goal of the season. He will likely spearhead the Shrews attack. Defender Bryn Morris will be missing due to his red card against the Dons.
With Shrewsbury unbeaten in their last 6 games and without tasting defeat to a side in the bottom half since November they'll be heavily backed to continue their unbeaten run. Rochdale have a habit of drawing so the handicap will return a slight profit on the draw.
