Crvena zvezda vs Fenerbahce
When I am betting against Crvena zvezda, then Fenerbahce is my favorite opponent cause in such matchup usually there is no mistake.
Namely with Zeljko Obradovic on their bench, Fenerbahce is always max motivated against Crvena zvezda. I have no doubts the same will be now, especially after last season insults Obradovic got here from the fans, though from one small part of the crowd.
BTW, Fenerbahce has lost that last season visit here but it was the only success for CZ in seven Euroleague meetings with Fenerbahce. So, as long Crvena zvezda compete in EL, it's 6-1 H2H in favor of Fenerbahce including easy this season victory in Istanbul, 82:66.
If win today, Fener will secure home court advantage in playoffs. They are also aiming to keep current 2nd place in front of Olympiacos and thus to have a little bit easier play off opponent.
Crvena zvezda clearly was long ago without chance to reach postseason but after last round loss in Athens, it's now a mathematical fact Serbian team is out of playoffs race.
Fenerbahce had a lot of problems with injuries during the season, after all like everyone else. But now they are with complete roster and such deep bench gives them clear advantage here.
Don't forget both teams are coming from last round games that took place only two days ago and such rhythm IMO clearly affects much more less deep team, in this case Crvena zvezda.
Quality and deepness is without any doubt on the side of Fenerbahce but we also have here huge coaching mismatch. On one side best European coach ever in face of Zeljko Obradovic while on the other side we have Euroleague rookie coach, Dušan Alimpijevic.
The hosts is not playing very well right now. IMO they were much better earlier in the season. Seems chemistry is gone. They said it's not true but in fact rummors about conflict between captain Branko Lazic and most experienced Pero Antic on one side and head coach Alimpijevic on the other side, are true. Newspaper of course overreacted, probably there wasn't fight but some kind of a verbal conflict that's for sure. Hopefully we will see Alimpijevic fired at the end of the season.
In any case, as I said, chemistry is gone. Also among fans, it's quite different story than earlier. Namely the fans are not pleased that the Muslim guy Alen Omic has arrived to the team. And now we have boycott by the fans. On the stands you have only some regular people to say, people who like basketball. And there isn't well known support, there isn't wind in the back for a home side, something that always was important for Serbian teams when play at home.
It's not that such experienced and much more quality side as Fenerbahce would not be able to deal with hot atmosphere from the stands, but this way it will be even easier for guests.
IMO Fenerbahce will win in a routine manner.
As I mentioned, Fenerbahce with full roster. Crvena zvezda without Nemanja Dangubic.
