ATP Indian Wells

PICK: T. Daniel +2.5 games ah

Taro Daniel has been the biggest surprise in Indian Wells this year. After qualifications he won Norrie and after that came the BOMB. He won Novak Djokovic in the second round by 2-1 (7-6, 4-6, 6-1). Djokovic didn't get the touch for Daniel's serve even though the first serve of Daniel was only below 50%.

Leonardo Mayer got a total gift when Kei Nishikori left the tournament. In the second round he met Bemelmans who didn't offer challenge. Mayer's first game against Estrella though, promises good for Daniel's today's match. Estrella is mainly clay player as Mayer nowadays. Despite of that Estrella was able to take a set from Mayer and the game lasted over two hours.

Mayer played in challenger series 7-3 last season while for Daniel the record was 19-9. Actually, the players met a year ago in Buenos Aires challenger tournament where Daniel was better by 2-1 sets. It is in my opinion surprising the bookies offer such big odds for Daniel after winning Djokovic. Of course his first serve wasn't at good level but if he could improve it about 10% I think it could be possible to win Mayer in straight sets. I lay +2.5 games for Daniel.
