Aston Villa vs QPR (By: TFB)

Midweek Championship fixtures see Aston Villa welcome Queens Park Rangers to Villa Park with both sides coming into this contest with wins in the previous match. QPR brushed aside bottom club Sunderland 1-0 at home while Aston Villa recorded an emphatic 4-1 home win over league leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Villa have got the bit between their teeth now and have real ambition of Premier League football next season. Superbly led by Steve Bruce, the West Midlands outfit are hot on the heels of 2nd placed Cardiff City and after thrashing the league leaders on home soil the Bluebirds need to look over their shoulder. There is just a 4 point gap now between 2nd and 3rd and with Aston Villa recording their 9th win in their last 11 games it wouldn't be a surprise to see that disappear before the end of the season.

Steve Bruce has some talented players who wouldn't look out of place in the Premier League and he has really got them on top form. Adomah is enjoying life scoring 13 goals this season and bringing in Lewis Grabban looks a good bit of business with him netting 3 times in his 6 games so far. They also have bags of experience at the bag with John Terry, Alan Hutton and James Chester all with a lot of Premier League experience at other clubs.

QPR curently lie in 16th position. Their season is pretty much over as they won't get relegated and they are too far off the pace to reach the playoffs. The London outfit have picked up a bit of form lately though and have recorded a few recent wins but these have been at Loftus Road against sides in a relegation battle. On the road they lie 21st out of 24 and have only 2 wins, again, against sides in a relegation battle.

Considering recent home/away form of the 2 sides Villa should record a routine victory, only a heroic defensive display from QPR can deny them.
