Valenciennes vs Orleans (By: Alcuni)
Valenciennes – Orleans
Valenciennes put an end to their negative series on own pitch, wining fortnight ago at home 2-0 versus in form AC Ajaccio. A good display corroborated with one of the poorest away game made by Ajaccio this year came to this positive result for Valenciennes. A team who remains with upside/ down evolution – the prove being the next game when Valenciennes clearly lost 0-2 at Auxerre, being unable to keep same evolution they had versus AC Ajaccio. Still a team with plenty injuries problem, but a team who like to play offensive versus mid/lower table teams. Xavier will not play being banned but 3 starters are back in squad: Roudet, Nery and Diarra
After a difficult end of 2017 and also poor start in 2018 with 5 defeats in 9 games gap, Orleans take a positive series having now 5 games without a defeat, taking 3 wins and 2 draws, versus some good teams as Lens, Paris FC and LeHavre. Their positive and attacking football paid off good and now the team is middle in table with 35 points , 13 points more than first relegation spot. For them will come a hot March month with 4 difficult games, after this trip Orleans will meet Nimes, Lorient and Brest – so few chances to collect too many points. But the end of the season will bring them an affordable schedule so I think will be no worries for Orleans in avoiding relegation few rounds before the end. Once again difficult time for Orleans in this trip as 3 main starters are suspended Benkaid + Poha + main GK Gallon, while other 2 defenders injured: Monfrey and Cambon. As a positive news striker Gomis is back in squad.
Keeping in mind teams’ news we should see goals in this game. Orleans with big defensive problems but with really powerful attack compartment should be able to score. True is a home win is paid very well and is another option for me. But I’ll choice over 2.5 gl.
