Lens vs Orleans

Lens – Orleans

Lens dominated the game in last trip versus Brest taking a single point after a fierce battle. Both team tried to take all points, Lens being close to this. Was an offensive football shown by both team, with many chances to score but only two goals, And after an undeserved 1-0 win over Nimes on the road, now Lens took a well-deserved point who help them to continue their good run. A good run in championship followed by a good run in championship thanks to another win 1-0 over lower league Briochin. Also they used most of the starters and keeping in mind they must play few days later their postponed game at home vs Sochaux – fatigue should occur, no doubt. Defender Gersbach is the new name in the Lens squad (after they brought another defender Dja Djedje) while Mesloub is in stand-by. Bellegarde is back in the squad but Hafez and Duplus are missing due to injuries.

Orleans made put a huge amount of effort in their last game at home vs Auxerre, effort who proved to be futile in the end. They made a poor first half, conceding twice till 60 mins. In first half plenty of Auxerre opportunities with 3 shots in post plus a missed penalty, but completely changed game after the break when Orleans played much better despite conceding second goals. They leveled at 2 thanks to this effort, but were once again penalized with a penalty in injury time and conceded third goal, losing the game and remaining in the red zone with 6 points more than Quevilly – 18th spot. N’Goma is missing for this trip.

Also two teams focused on attack. I will be surprised is this game will not be ended as over with BTTS. Last game here ended 4-2 for Lens after Orleans had 2-0 at home point in 1st half. Why not similar display now? Back over 2.5 with BTTS. gl
