Nancy vs Brest (By: Alcuni)

Nancy – Brest

As expected, Nancy made another poor game losing once again 0-1 at Sochaux. And followed to this new defeat their coach Hognon ( who replaced Pablo Correa at the end of August 2017) was sacked, Nancy searching a new coach ( till this will happens Patrick Gabriel is in charge). They came at Sochoux not to lose, focused on 0-0 and if more was possible why not. But in the end they lost and remained only 3 points more than QUevilly near to the read zone. As a good new their former player Junior Dale returned to them and in a good shape can reshuffle a damaged squad. Let’s not forget Nancy didn’t score a single goal in last 4 games in championship, so this returning should be auspicious. Dale is in the squad and also they can count again on experienced Chretien. But will miss 1st GK Jourdren ( let’s remember after the trip at Brest he was suspended 10 rounds for un ugly gesture to Brest supporters) and Yahia still injured.

Followed by some poor results taken so far in 2018, when collected only 2 points out of 9 possible, Brest increased the gap between them and promotion spots at 5 and seems to be much more difficult in these circumstances to stay involved in the promotion battle. But, despite these results they made some courageous half games ( 2nd half vs Ajaccio’s teams and 1st half versus Lens) so is nothing lost yet. But they need much more concentration upfront in order to convert in goal numerous chances they’ve create. Remains a good team, in order to beat anybody but with a bit more chance and concentration for all game period, not only for half. Same squad for Furlan’s squad.

I don’t think sacking of the coach will have an immediate effect in Nancy squad. No doubt they will try to win but Brest proved to be versatile enough and capable to not lose. Back the draw . gl
