Houston Astros vs Washington Nationals prediction

I do not think that Strasburg pitched worse than Verlander. On the contrary and here is why.

As i said before, Strasburg is outpitching Scherzer and we have the ice cold numbers ( finally ) to back this up.

Strasburg is 3-0 this postseason with a 1.64 ERA. The Interesting part of this all? He pitched even better with a fantastic 1.53 FIP (!) / 1.62 xFIP (!) which is incredible of course. And that is not strange with a monsterous 13.50 K/9, 0.41 BB/9, 0.82 HR/9.

The last time Stras faced the Astros was back in 2017 and he pitched 6 scoreless innings against them with fantastic stuff as well: 10.5 K/9, 1.50 BB/9. Important to note that the Astros became world champions that year and that most players are in todays lineup as well.

Verlander on the other side has had a great season of course and he is still pitching great. However, he is far from unhitable. He is 1-2 this postseason with a 3.70 ERA. BUT, he pitched worse than that with a 4.49 FIP / 4.60 xFIP.

Suprising win for the Nats yesterday and we saw once again that their bullpen is their weak spot.

-Nats were 21-17 as a road underdog this regular season ( 2nd best ).

- Nats are 4-1 as a road dog this postseason.

Hence taking my chances with the Nats as a road dog for plus money.
