San Diego Padres vs Atlanta Braves (By: Mulder)

Dallas Keuchel is 2-2 with a 3.60 ERA. He had a start slow, which was not so strange as he did not pitched since months, but as predicted, this Atlanta team looks like good match for Beardman. That Atlanta front office is known to get ( great ) pitchers back on track and they are a little similair to the Astros in that regard.

So in in his last two outings Keuchel has been really solid. He allowed 4 runs in his last 14.1 innings pitched, walked 3 and struck out 7. Okay, that 4.32 K/9 is really low, but i was not expecting any different as we could see last season already.

More important with someone like Keuchel is to look at his GB ratio. And that has been good, really good with a fantastic 59.3 GB%. 23.0% soft contact and 37.9 % medium contact is solid .

And the interesting thing here is that the Padres hit a lot of balls on the ground, especially against lefties at home: 46.1 GB% ( 6th most ) AND they strike out the most versus Southpaws at home, 28.1 K%< 1st (!) indeed.

RHP Lamet will start for the Pads and this is just his second start since 2017. He looks healthy as he throws hard ( almost 100 MPH ) but he allowed 3 runs in LA: 5.40 ERA.

In the minors this season: 6.00 ERA with a 4.38 FIP, so nothing special really.

All in all, i believe the Braves might continue their great streak they were having before the break.
