Dream season continued
LASK Linz appeared as a favorite against AZ Alkmaar in the previous round but had to wait for the retuning game in front of their own crowd to justify that role fully with a 2:0 result. Raguz scored two goals, one in each halftime in a game where they presented themselves as much more concrete compared to the visitors from Alkmaar.
As for the Austrian Bundesliga, they continued to enjoy the season last Sunday evening winning away to Mattersburg with a narrow 1:0 result. Klaus was the only goalscorer in the early phase, as they could have scored far more. Most importantly, six points lead comparing to Salzburg continues for them ahead of the start of an additional phase.
LASK Linz team news
The Austrians will miss injured midfielders Balic (2/2) and Potzmann (16/1). Also, suspended are central defenders Wiesinger (19/1) and Filipovic (13/2).
On the other hand, Manchester United didn't have such a difficult task playing against Club Brugge in the previous round. After a 1:1 game in Belgium, they cruised to a 5:0 victory as the class difference was simply too obvious. At the same time, it was their tenth consecutive game in all the competitions with no loss.
Manchester United once again confirmed that the second part of the season goes into the right direction for them. It was a 2:0 home victory over local rivals from City, as Martial and McTominay were goalscorers. Despite much less of the ball possession, it was United that threatened more effectively. They are now just three points below fourth=placed Chelsea.
The Red Devils team news
The guests will miss goalkeeper Grant (1/0), right-backs Dalot (4/0), Wan-Bissaka (26/0), and offensive players Lingard (20/0), Rashford (22/14) and Martial (23/11) most likely.
No reason to fear
LASK has no reason to only defend here since the team anyway already surpassed the expectations. Without fans, it might be more difficult, but they have great chemistry and knowing that surely will try to make some pressure and impact on this one. However, without a proper atmosphere in Linz, the visitors should score their goal even easier.
