Inter Milan vs Barcelona prediction

Last game for Inter and Barcelona in Group F in CL. It will be held at San Siro stadium.

Barcelona won the group as they have 11 points, while Inter and Dortmund have both 7 points and Slavia-2 points. That’s the situation before the final round. Well, Inter has better H2H against Dortmund, so in case of similar outcomes in Dortmund and Inter home games, Inter will have the edge.

Inter is going very well in Serie A, but I was totally disappointed by what I saw by them against Roma at San Siro. A very dull game without many real goal chances and absolutely deserved draw as an outcome. In Champions League, Inter saved its chance to progress ahead as the team beat Slavia Prague as visitors in the last round with 1:3 after two late goals by Lukaku and Martinez. It was an all-in game for the Italian side, so the win was highly expected, but I doubt against Barcelona will be the same story.

Martinez and Lukaku are expected to lead the attack of Inter, but the main problems are connected with the midfield line. Stefano Sensi, Nicolo Barella and Roberto Gagliardini are all out of the team being injured, Candreva was injured against Roma and is also doubtful in the midfield line, while Asamoah is also coming after an injury and we will see if he is in good condition to play against Barcelona. Sanchez is also injured, so he will miss the game for sure.

Barcelona started to find a form close to their normal level. They registered five wins in a row in all competitions, Messi is in great scoring form, Suarez also started to find his goal-scoring form. They outplayed Mallorca in the last La Liga home game with 5:2 after Messi’s hattrick+ one goal by Griezmann and one by Suarez( a brilliant back heel). In the last CL game, they also beat Dortmund 3:1 at home plus Atletico in La Liga, so their current form is progressive for sure.

Valverde is expected make a few changes in this game, but it’s still not sure what will be. That’s one of the reasons Barca will be the outsiders in this game+ the required home win for Inter. Well, Semedo, Dembele and Alba are the injured players in their team, while doubtful are Fati and Arthur.

If Inter wins this home game against Barcelona, their team will progress in the 1/8 finals in CL for sure. I strongly doubt it will happen without any kind of an opposition by Barcelona. Dortmund’s home win against Slavia Prague is also far away from guaranteed as Slavia won their both points in the group as visitors to Inter and Barcelona. So, even a draw in this game can be lucky for Inter at the end. Everything is in their hands, but even against Barcelona with a few changes, I am sure this game will be a balanced one and +0.5AH( same as X2 double chance) for Barcelona at such high odds is worth a try. Barcelona is still without a loss in the group, they beat Inter 2:1 at Camp Nou, so the home win is not guaranteed at all, even needed by Conte’s side. I strongly believe Barcelona will finish the group unbeaten!

Until You see what team Barcelona put out, then this bet makes no sense.

Messi rested, not even traveling to Milan.

Starting line-ups are published an hour before the game, while our picks have to be published at least three hours before the beginning of the game. We don't have the opportunity to see the line-ups writing these previews and picks, only to mention what are the injuries in both clubs.

You are right about that, but I am pretty sure even with a few substitutes, this game will not be easy at all for Inter, no matter if they are required to win or not. Barcelona will not let them to win, especially when they don't have much options in attack and it's expected at least two amongst Messi, Suarez and Griezmann to start.

Yeah, I saw that, the group of 20 players who will travel to Milano are published in Barca's twitter account, so everyone can see them. Messi is the major miss, but all of the other important players are there. We will see what starting line-up Valverde will choose, but remember, even the youngsters will want to show their potential to the manager.

I expect to see Fati on the left wing in attack with Suarez and Griezmann. The midfield zone has a variety of good players like Sergio Busquets, Arthuro Vidal, Rakitic, De Jong..Umtiti and Lenglet will almost for sure be the centre-backs. Ter Stegen is also there as a GK.

It's too early to say anything about this game before we see the line-ups, but the group of Barcelona is not bad at all.

Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde is set to rotate the squad heavily for their Champions League clash against Inter next Tuesday, due to important games in the league between now and Christmas, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Spanish newspaper AS.

The report details how the Blaugrana have already guaranteed qualification to the next round of the competition and even a loss against Inter won’t see them give up their first-place spot. Therefore, huge stars of the club such as Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Sergio Busquets are all expected to be absent from the game.

Other players such as Ivan Rakitic, Gerard Pique, Sergi Roberto and Clément Lenglet aren’t expected to start, the report continues, although they are options if needed by Valverde in the game. The only lethal threat expected to start for the Blaugrana’s attack is Antoine Griezmann.

Probable Barcelona Formation (4-3-3): Neto; Wague, Todibo, Umtiti, Júnior; De Jong, Aleñá, Vidal; Carles Pérez, Griezmann, Ansu Fati

They are bad without Messi! Suarez hasn't scored a Champions League goal away from Nou camp for only God know when. Griezman isnt fitting well yet and Fati? Come on! Inter are far from the perfect team but without Messi, most teams in Europe have nothing to fear from Barcelona and its a fact even from their domestic games without him.

It seems folks are yet to grasp what Conte is building with this Inter team and how well they are playing this season.
Did folks forget how Barca labored in the first leg at home to Inter, with Inter playing arguably better football. Suarez had to bail Barca in the 84th minute.

Below are six reasons why Inter will beat Barcelona;
1. Inter are infallible at home recently
2. Barca are over reliant on Messi. Without him, Barca will struggle to qualify for Champ league from the Spanish league. Everyone knows Barca play like headless chickens without their talisman Messi.
3. Barca have a poor away record recently.
4. Inter needs to win and win well.
5. Inter has Lautauro Martinez who is unplayable now. Rumours have it that Barca are interested in him this January as a long term replacement for Suarez, so he must be motivated.
6. Pique, Busquets and the aformentioned Messu won't start. Without this 3, Barca are just an average team.

Inter are infallible at home? Man, they had three little bit harder opponents in Serie A when they played at San Siro(Lazio,Juve and Roma) and got a loss against Juve(1:2), minimal win against Lazio(1:0) and 0:0 during the weekend against Roma showing just nothing in attack.

In the first game at Camp Nou, Barcelona were the dominant side, while Inter relied on counters and used their first chance to score via Martinez early in the game. I doubt it will be the same at San Siro. This time Inter will have to attack much more as they are looking for the win, so Inter will be vulnerable to be punished.

If I have to honest, Barcelona has some very quality youngsters who will want to prove they can be the future of this club, so mistakes can happen, but also some good stuff like goals and assists by them. We will see!

I strongly agree with two things you said- Messi is really very important for Barcelona, there were a few games without him when Barca were really weak, but in other games they had good results even without him. It's tough to say what to expect without him on the pitch. The second thing is that Conte is really a great coach who will make a great team by Inter, but I think he needs more time. He is better coach than Valverde, but he also has some very important missings in the midfield zone(Barella, Sensi, maybe Candreva) which reflected a lot against strong opponent like Roma and Barca can also use that fact- Vidal, de Jong, Rakitic, etc can dominate them.

That's my final answer to this pick. I answered you because I liked your arguments. We will see what will happen tomorrrow, guys :))

I hope we can see something like 1:2 or 1:0
12/10/2019 - 00:08
Sorry 2:1 or 1:0
12/10/2019 - 00:38
Inter will win this. Marks my words.
12/10/2019 - 07:22
@ StDimi...cheers mate! Sensi and Barella are major missed and they have been missing for say the last 4-5 games. Borja Valero is a whitewashed grave nowadays. Probably the loss of both players to injury, especially Barella, with his robust style with the occasional odd goal crackers from midfield explains why Inter may lose the midfield battle against Barca.
However, something just tells me Inter will be the better team tonight. They are 2 points top of Seria A for a reason, plus with the least no of goals conceded.
In all, everything is possible in football. Inter or Barca may win or it will be a draw.

I played Inter to score Over 1.5 team goals. So perhaps they play 2:2, we all are winners lol.

May it go green on all of us.

Inter Milan win
12/10/2019 - 10:11
My prediction for this match. Barcelona is going to win or draw no bet.......inter Milan is it's best form
12/10/2019 - 11:14
Difficult Game. Inter lacks high Quality in Offensive Midfield. i dont think they can do something special this Season in Champions League. Barcas Reserve are good enough to get something but for me no bet.
12/10/2019 - 12:49
@jordan you bet on barca ... go big and then see

Where is the surprise? Which game tonight?
12/10/2019 - 18:55
@Criss Hsk . Suprise can be Slavia Praha Victory. If Inter leads than Game for BVB is useless and Slavia is dangerous for soft Defense of BVB. Or Lokomotive Moskau can suprise. Atletico looks not good.
