My first game for today, is European Champions League fixture Borussia Dortmund (Germany) vs Tottenham Hotspurs (England).
This is a battle between a host team designed for offensive, free-flowing football with dominating mid-field play, where even defenders have been recorded to repeatedly get on the score sheet, and visiting team set up in a more distributed way of free flowing football that combines focus on defensive, midfield and attacking capabilities, with some adjustments to be made in style and intensity due to absence of Dele Alli, who is a key midfield anchor, and due also to current scoreline of 3 - 0 from the first leg.
The visitors will still have their critical Talisman in person of Harry Kane, in addition to their hard fighting and very talented South Korean forward; Son Heung-Min for this fixture. Kane will be trying to build on his name in the Champions league, and I see him trying and may be even succeeding to get a goal in this one. SonThe hosts are without their defender Piszczek Lukasz, and a midfielder Pulisic Christian, both of whom are easily replaced with available hands. to avoid getting injuries that may affect their performance and subsequently their progression beyond the Quarter finals.
Despited their recent poor showing in the Domestic league, and the first leg of this Champions league fixture, Dortmund have only failed to score on one of the previous 20 games played at home in all matches, and I will expect them to give this a fight and show-up on the score sheet as well. Tottenham, as see in the match against Arsenal, are a hard fighting team, and will fight this one out to nick an away goal especially if Dortmund find their way into the scoring sheet. They attack of the visitors is laden with quality players, awho have scored in all but 2 of their last 20 matches played away in all competitions so I expect them to do same here.
This fixture has not failed to produce over 2.5 goals in all the previous five times that both teams have faced off against each other in competitive fixtures, and I see that today will be no different. Both teams are vying for a Champions league quarter final slot, that is all but in the bag for Tottenham, with their 3 - 0 win in the first leg at Wembley. For them, in the fact that they were able to prevent Dortmund from getting the away goal, means they can afford to be adventurous in the attack to get a crucial away goal that will seal the fate of the home team.
I expect a Dortmund win in view of the reduced motivation of the visitors who must be already looking forward the next stage of the Champions league, and not want to be overly committed going forward, but I will bet BTT & Ov 2.5 to be safe.
