Dortmund vs Eintracht Frankfurt prediction
After a strong entrance into the second part of the season, players of Dortmund two straight defeats last week. Firstly it was an exclusion from the DFB Pokal game away to Dortmund, but then complete collapse in the second halftime against Leverkusen and a 4:3 loss too last Saturday.
They looked vulnerable at the back during the entire match, but it was especially obvious once they had the 3:2 lead, collapsing in the last fifteen minutes and conceding two more goals via Bailey and Bender.
It's not that Leverkusen has shown more during the clash, but simply it was Dortmund that proved to be too vulnerable in the defense and didn't have enough time to respond later on.
This was first their defeat in Bundesliga for Dortmund after three consecutive victories since the second part of the season has started. They stand at the third position together with Glaadbch, having four points less than the leaders from Bayern Munich and a victory here remains as a must thing for them.
Offensive midfielder Brandt (21/3) and forward Reus (19/11) continue to be injured. Defensive midfielder Delaney (6/0) is doubtful.
Eintracht Frankfurt improved obviously in the second part of the season, coming now from the fourth game with no defeat, counting three victories in such progress. Not only that, they have won over RB Leipzig 3:1 at home last weekend progressing to the quarter-finals of the DFB Pokal.
Last time out in Bundesliga, they managed to completely outplay Augsburg in a 5:0 victory last Friday. It was all about them, especially in the second halftime when the hosts completely dominated the game being able to have way easier task after taking the lead towards the end of the first halftime.
Kostic was the star of the game with two goals and two assists, while the whole team looks completely revived and better in the last few weeks. They are now seven points behind the Europa League zone and can't afford to drop points even though they face up against such a strong opponent this night.
The guests continue to miss defensive midfielder Gabriel Fernandes (9/0) and Torro (3/0) due to injuries. Unlikely to play is also central defender Abraham (12/1), while forward Dost (13/5) could get involved.
Dortmund remains a favorite in this one and should be able to regain the momentum in front of its own fans again. Eintracht looks far better in recent weeks and shouldn't be too defensive here. Even if they appear so, it's only logical that they find a way to hurt Dortmund at the back since the hosts don't inspire with confidence in defense, at all.
