Spartak Moscow vs Rostov
Spartak Moscow was a huge underdog away from home against Zenit last Monday night, however with the fact that they have played having a man more for the entire second halftime there's no doubt that a defeat can't be regarded as anywhere close to a decent outcome.
The only goal was scored back in the 21st minute an own one, with Zenit having control over the first halftime.
However, early into the second halftime, they stood playing with a man less, with the team from Moscow being unable to be more concrete in creativity, leaving the field with the vast majority of the ball possession but nothing more than that.
The team is still off from the top of the table, being at the moment at the ninth position with nine points less than Europa League placed Rostov and in a must-win situation here if they are to keep the pace with the European exit for the next season.
Central backs Kutepov (9/0) and Gigot (16/4) are now both sidelined due to suspensions after picking up their fourth yellow card in the season. Goalkeeper Selikhov (1/0) is out injured.
After a very good start and decent table position, players of Rostov are now in real trouble regarding the form. Combined with some difficult matches, they now have five consecutive matches with no victory, four in the Russian Premier League.
Most recently, it was a goalless game at home against Ural last Saturday, as they simply didn't look sharp enough in the attack.
Despite the more of the ball possession, their attacks weren't as fluid as possible and it wasn't that difficult for Ural to remain with a clean sheet this time.
The team is now in the fifth position but with just three points behind the second-placed Lokomotiv, great situation but the response is immediately needed regarding the atmosphere improvement.
The guests will miss defensive midfielder Glebov (11/0) due to injury. Doubtful for this match are central backs Chistyakov (17/0), Sigurdsson (13/0) and midfielder Eremenko (14/4) all three coming off from injury problems.
Neither of the teams is in a perfect momentum, but both sides will be looking for an improvement in this one.
Spartak is a favorite, but neither they scored in the last two matches, and while, remaining a favorite, they too are vulnerable at the back. Rostov might not get what they are looking for, but their goal seems quite likely as they do much better via counters and faster transition.
