Port Vale vs Mansfield (By: Luke)
Port Vale made a bit of a surprise in the FA Cup's 1/64 phase winning away to Cheltenham with a 1:3 result.
Even though they stood behind in the scoreline in the first halftime, their performance in the second halftime was changed everything thanks to three goals from Pope within eight minutes.
But it was not only about these eight minutes, the visitors really had remarkable second halftime. As for the League Two, they did suffer recently defeat away to Scunthorpe 2:1, being now just below the playoff zone - three points behind seventh-placed Bradford City.
The hosts should miss defender Crookes (14/0) and midfielder Oyeleke (3/0). The home side's coach felt very positive about this game, saying that they will try to keep their feet on the ground and will be everything they can to progress adding that winning has become a habit for them and that this competition remains important as it's one of the ways to reach Wembley.
Mansfield got excluded from further participation in the FA Cup, suffering a 2:0 defeat away to Shrewsbury last weekend.
With this defeat, they continued the poor momentum, as the side didn't score a single goal in the previous three competitive matches now.
Even more worrying, is the fact that they have played with a man more since the 60th minute, but it the exact time when they conceded both goals in this match - straight in the last five minutes of the game when they should have dominated it.
As for League Two, most recently it was a narrow 1:0 loss away to Swindon, as they now stand in the second part of the table with seven points more than the rock bottom-placed Morecambe and should be pretty satisfied for now.
The guests should miss top scorer Rose (14/7), also defender White (4/0) and offensive Davies (no performance so far). Midfielder Bishop (13/0) shouldn't be risked.
Port Vale seems to be in far better momentum now, while they did show at least a bit more during the season in the League Two as well.
The hosts are playing very tight at the back and rarely allow goals for the League Two standards in front of their own fans, while Mansfield anyway seems like a side struggling currently in the offense.
