Motherwell FC vs Livingston (By: Luke)

After two back to back defeats, players of Motherwell reacted well in a 2:1 victory last Wednesday night.

However, it must be said that the game itself was much easier for them since the fourteenth minute when the guests had a player excluded due to a red card.

It wasn't that difficult for them to obtain a three-pointer, getting the goals via Donnelly and Cole and lowering down the tempo in the last thirty minutes or so.

The team is now in the third position and surely wants to remain at that place after this match, meaning that the victory is their only target this evening.

Defender Dunne (3/0) is injured for the hosts, plus a couple of really long-term ones who didn't play so far in the new season. Defender O'Hara (2/0) is doubtful.

Livingston, on the other side, comes from the third consecutive game without a victory, even though they had a great chance last time out on Wednesday night.

They had the double lead away to Hibernian and were leading till the last thirty minutes - but in the end, walked away with just a point in a 2:2 game.

Lawless and Shibbald brought them into the double lead towards the end of the first halftime, but they appeared too passive in the repetition. It was all about the home side that eventually leveled up the result in the second minute of added time - but must be said in a deserved manner.

Livingston is now sharing the sixth position together with Ross County and still have a decent chance of reaching the playoff zone at the end of the regular part of the season.

Midfielder Erskine (4/0) is injured and out for a few weeks already. Forward Souda (7/0) is suspended.

Livingston has conceded at least 2 goals in 6 of their last 7 away matches in Premiership.

That victory over Kilmarnock during the midweek surely improved the atmosphere inside the hosts' locker room now. They have the quality to get the three pointer here and continue being third at the table.

Knowing how Livingston plays on the road, it shouldn't be too difficult for Motherwell to score. Even if they concede one, I still believe they will be able to outscore out of form opponents.
