Mali vs Ivory Coast (By: DamirJ)
Mali looked really well so far during the tournament, winning easily over Mauritania 4:1 in the first round.
They were bit better than the Tunisians as well in the second, but the game ended as a 1:1 draw, while the side narrowly won over Angola 1:0 in the third using a bit rotated team. They didn't need that victory, but still pulled out thanks to a goal from Haidara.
Mali has no injury concerns for this one and should field their best. Defender Abdoulaye Diaby is set to return here after being rested on Tuesday.
Ivory Coast, on the other side, comes from one of the more difficult groups where they have won narrowly over South Africa 1:0, but then lost to Morrocco in the second round with the same result.
When it was needed the most, the Ivorians reacted well getting a 4:1 win over Namibia that secured them the knockout stage.
Right back Serge Aurier is yet to recover from injury, so Mamadou Bagayoko will continue. Other than that, they have no fresh injury worries.
As I already said a couple of times during the group stage, I really like the variety in Mali's attack and see them as one of the favorites to win the trophy.
Of course, Ivorians will be a big obstacle towards it. With the way Mali plays, I definitely see them as slight favorites here and goals do look more likely than on average looking at the tournament.
They do have all the chances to score, even in the first halftime and whenever they get the first one, they'll have even better chances for the second once the Ivorians open up.
