Southampton vs Tottenham (By: Dajkula)
Southampton welcomes Tottenham in round 30 of the Premier League. Only the difference on the table suggests the away side should be taking this but, of course, nothing is that simple. Southampton is fighting against relegation as they are 17`th with 27 points and 6-9-14 so far. Tottenham is third with 61 points and 20-1-8 so far. Their chances for the title are minimal but they have a lot to play for. ManU, Arsenal, and Chelsea are close behind and the fight for CL places will be heated till the end.
Tottenham played the Champions League in midweek and the rode their luck early on. Lloris had to make some great saves to keep them in the game but it was Harry Kane that broke the deadlock and the chances of Dortmund to progress. It was a sloppy win but it must have filled Tottenham with confidence. Their last results in the league were not good as they even lost 2 of the last 3 with narrowly escaping with a draw against Arsenal. But I suggest that little is needed to push Tottenham in the right direction. Tottenham has the most wins away from home and a total of 11-0-4.
Southampton is in weak form but they frustrated Manu in the last match and just lost it 3:2 in the end. They were leading 2:0 but, as often goas this season, they lack commitment in their effort. They have a pretty dreadful season and are equally bad at home and away. On home ground, they have 3-6-5 but a negative 17:21 goal difference. Southampton lost 3 of the last 5 matches with the only home win coming against the weak Fulham.
Pochettino is the ex Southampton coach and he knows something about the team. Tottenham has a good hold on Southampton lately and they won 4 of the last 5 and in 2 of the last 3 visits.
Southampton will be missing Obafemi and Ings while Tottenham is without Janssen with Alli being a doubt.
I can see Tottenham taking the 3 points today.
