Southampton vs Fulham
Southampton is coming from a 1:1 draw away to Manchester United on last Saturday evening. With this result, the team confirmed that they are in a good form at the moment and that only one defeat so far in the Premier League isn't just a coincidence. Manchester opened the scoreline in 26th minute, had few more chances to enlarge the lead, however Southampton, although struggles to make great chances, found a way to tie the score in 89th minute of the game.
As said, they confirmed their good form with a point taken from "Old Trafford", while the team currently stands at high sixth position being only four points away from leaders from Arsenal. Still, everyone knows that the good run won't be for a much longer and are only trying to enjoy their good run as much as possible. Of course, after a 4-3-1 record at the start of the season, there is no other option but to search for another home victory while welcoming Fulham. Midfielder Davis (8/2) will have to pass a fitness test before the match, but is likely to be given a role at least from the bench. Coach Pochettino is has a full squad to choose from and probably won't change much in comparison to match away to Manchester United last weekend.
Fulham, on the other side, is coming from second consecutive victory, as they visited Crystal Palace on Monday evening and returned with a 4:1 victory. Even though the home side got into the lead in seventh minute, they equalized in nineteenth minute and since then, everything on the field went on their side.
Ten minutes later they got into the lead, while the second half couldn't be opened in a much better way as the players of Fulham scored two more goals in first fifteen minutes. Even though Crystal Palace struggled to find a response, victory was already secured and very easy fashion. It was their second consecutive victory as they previously won at home over Stoke 1:0 and managed to escape from the red zone having currently three points more than relegated Norwich. Atmosphere was pretty tight before these two victories, but everyone seems to be more comfortable now, especially coach Martin Jol. Defender Hangeland (8/0) was forced to come off at half-time against Crystal Palace and is likely to stay away from this game too, while the visitors also left defender Briggs (2/0) and central defender Hughes (3/0), but last two didn't participate much during the season and can be easily substituted.
Despite the good form from the home side, it's not realistic to see them winning with great ease today. Visitors are coming with elevated psychology and can be very dangerous now, while the odds are completely overestimating Southampton.
