Inverness vs Dundee Utd
Knock out game for the quarter finals of the Scottish League Cup. In case of tie the game will be followed by extra time and then penalties. The winner of this game will put in their cashiers a significant amount of money.
Inverness game against Ross County last Friday did not completed because the headlights of their stadium gone off in the half time and now it remains to be seen if the match will be replayed or will be continued some other day.
Good news for Inverness that they do not have to deal with absences or injuries except defender James Vincent who is still out injured. Striker Billy McKay is in excellent form as he scored 8 goals in 10 games, the same goes on for his partner in attack, Richie Foran who scored 4 goals in 10 games too. All last three games of Inverness for the Scottish Premier League finished with over 2.5 goals scored.
Dundee United won very easily 4-0 at home against St. Mirren, in a game where they were not threatened at any moment from St. Mirren and had their offensive line to a very good day. Turkish striker Nadir Ciftci scored two goals (5 goals in 10 games), while attacking midfielder Ryan Gauld and left midfielder Chris Erskine scored by one and cleaned up the game.
Coach of Dundee United Jackie McNamara stressed that all of his players knows well the importance of this game and included everyone to the squad to Inverness without resting players. Their sole aim is to qualify to the next stage of the League Cup and they will field the same lineup with the match against St. Mirren. Defenders Sean Dillon and Mark Watson are both back in the squad after resting in the last game.
Both teams have great potential to their offensive lines, Inverness with McKay and Foran, Dundee United with Ciftci and Graham. Since this is a knock out game, I expect a fast paced game with lot of action and goals.
