Valerenga vs Stromsgodset
Valarenga made the best possible result before the international break, as the team comes from a 4:2 victory away from home against Tromso in the most recent game played. It was good to see them back to winning ways after two consecutive matches without a three pointer, as the team showed much more of their attacking potential than usually what they were showing before.
At the same time, the victory came in a great momentum to lift up their psychology, as they dominated the first halftime completely – scoring all four goals inside the first halftime, via Tollas in 7th, Zahid in 16th, Finne in 18th and Abdellaoue in 25th minute. First thirty minutes, or actually even less, was everything they needed, as the players of Tromso were only able to reduce the deficit later on in the second halftime, via Siguraarson and Ingebrightsen. The team now stands at eight position having just five points less than third placed Brann that stands on Europa League position and is surely aiming for a victory here.
Defender Robert Lundstrom (12/1) is suspended due yellow cards accumulation, same as forward Ghayas Zahid (12/3). Forward Muhamed Keita (6/1) is having some injury problems but could be ready.
Stromsgodset, on the other side, couldn’t do much more in their previous Eliteserien league played before the international break, as the side visited champions from Rosenborg and were defeated with a 3:1 result. Their hosts had a great entrance into the match and took the lead in eight minute already via an own goal, while Jevtovic doubled up the lead in 16th minute.
Visiting side was even better in the second halftime, but the players of Rosenborg showed their maturity, sealing the victory in 53rd minute via Vilhjalmsson, while Ulland-Andersen reduced the deficit in 68th minute. The team is now really low at the table, currently standing at thirteenth position only, having actually same number of points as second from the bottom Kristiansund. They have been quite terrible away from home with 0-2-4 record and a point here would surely represent a decent outcome for them. Visitors should have no injury worries ahead of this one.
Valarenga has improved when it was needed the most and I actually can see them performing only better and better. They seem to be in a fine form with three victories in last five matches and visitors shouldn’t be able to cope with their offensive quality. With the help of their own fans, they should easily take all three points this evening.
