Benevento vs Torino
Benevento managed to promote last season from Serie B via additional play-offs and there's is no doubt that their only target for the new season is to survive somehow and build up from that in next years to come. So far, the side didn't start well since they lost in Italian Cup to Perugia at home with heavy result, but then dissapointed slightly in first two rounds of Seria A too.
They firstly suffered 2:1 defeat away to Sampdoria in the season opening game, but then also didn't manage to improve much and stood defeated in front of own fans against Bologna week later with a narrow 1:0 result. Only goal was scored in 55th minute via Donsah, in a game that wasn't defensive one a lot, but also neither of the teams impressed much. Could be said that the players of Bologna were little better till they score their goal, while the hosts tried from then on, but without proper quality in attack.
Newly signed defender Achraf Lazaar won't be playing here, while midfielder Raman Chibsah continues to be injured. They should be playing in 4-4-2 version of formation, with Coda and Iemmello most likely as forwards.
Torino, on the other hand, had a pretty decent previous season but still lost the European battle in the end, however at times they looked really competitive and were even close to the battle for Champions League fourth position. New season has started with impressive 7:1 victory over Trapani in Italian Cup, while they did decently well in first two rounds too.
Firstly they took a point in away game to Bologna in a 1:1 draw and must be said that they had much more of the ball possession and were more dominant on the field, however lacked to be more concrete in attack. However, the side has improved in the second round winning over Sassuolo at home with an quite easy 3:0 result. Beloti scored the first one in 44th minute, while Ljajic and Obi scored once each in last ten minutes of the game. Overall impression was that the players of Torino didn't need much in order to convert their chance into goal.
Guests are set to start in their usual 4-2-3-1 formation with Belotti as central striker, plus Falque, Ljajic and Berenguer as offensive midfielders. Defensive midfielder Daniele Baselli is doubtful, while injured remain midfielders Mirko Valdifiori and Lucas Boye, all three without anyway playing so far in the season.
Benevento is a decent side, but they will surely need time to adopt their game style and find some more experience in order to match experienced and quality sides like Torino is. I simply don't see them this time being able respond to offensive quality of Torino.
