Domzale vs Lusitanos by DamirJ
Domzale ended up as third placed side in Slovenian league last season, ending well below first placed Olimpija and second placed Maribor, as the team looked like sure third placed side in Slovenian league for the most of the time. At the same time, they ended up well above fifth placed Celje, having ten points more than them and their European ticket was never in doubt.
Domzale didn't have plenty of success in recent years in qualifying rounds, as they exited in last two appearances in first rounds, losing to Astra from Romania back in 2013/14 and to Serbian side Cukaricki back in 2015/16 season. They did well in preparation period, having victories over Shekndija 3:2, but also over Radomlje 3:1 while the team drew against Celje. In the last friendly game, they won over Bosnian side Sloboda 6:1, another one that is competing in Europa League qualifiers.
Their roster consists of plenty of ex-Yugoslavian players, of course mostly with domestic ones, but also having couple of Brazilians, Argentinian, two players from France, one from Spain. They've signed winger Benjamin Morel from Beroe, but also Luka Zinko, defender from Krsko and right full back Matija Sirok from Bialystok. Defender Gaber Dobrovoljc is suspended after carrying Europa League red card from previous season.
FC Lusitanos, also known as Lusitans only, is a club founded back in 1999. Even though the club is seventeen years old, they have won the domestic Primera Divisio back in 2011-12 and the second national championship in the following season, obviously reaching their top in previous years.
They are constant participants of European competitions since season 2010/11, with exception of one season only, while their most notable result for now have been a draw at home against Faroe Island's side EB/Streymur. They have 0-1-9 record for now and have lost with no less than three goals difference away from home till now. Their roster consists of domestic players, but also bunch of players from Spain and Portugal, including one from Paraguay and Cameroon as well.
Slovenian side already showed that they are in decent form with victories in friendly matches and there is very little what the players from Andora can do in order to stop them. Domzale looked very serious against Sloboda, side that ended second in previous Bosnian championship and everything except their very easy victory, would be a huge surprise for me.
