Crystal Palace vs Arsenal
Crystal Palace suffered quite a painful home defeat last Monday as they welcomed Fulham but had to leave the field with bowed heads due to 1:4 defeat. Actually, home side had a good start getting into the lead in seventh minute, but the visitors equalized in 19th minute, momentum from which the visitors started playing way better and got into the lead just before the half-time whistle.
Fulham continued with better performance in the second half and have scored another two goals in first fifteen minutes, securing the victory already thirty minutes before the full time whistle, while the home side stood on the pitch without being able to respond. With this defeat, team of Crystal Palace continued with a poor form, as the team now occupies second from the bottom position with already five points less than teams above the relegation zone. No doubt that the team will have hard time staying in the league, while the atmosphere can't be much lower after the game against Fulham where the team showed one of the poorest performances this season, suffering their fifth consecutive defeat.
After that game, coach Holloway submitted his resignation and the team will be led by his assistant Keith Millen in this game. At least, the team will have no new worries in front of this game, as captain McCarthy, defender Hunt (2/0), midfielder Williams (3/0) and forward Murray (no appearance yet), all remain long term sidelined.
Arsenal welcomed Norwich last weekend and cruised to a new, easily taken 4:1 victory on last Saturday evening at home. They entered the game a bit slow, as the teams didn't play last two weeks back than, but as the time progressed Gunners were upping their performance, opening the scoreline in eighteenth minute and doubling it just before the half an hour.
Visitors from Norwich showed to be dangerous on some occasions, managed to reduce the deficit twenty minutes before the full time whistle, but the hosts responded well with two more goals in last fifteen minutes of the game securing more than deserved victory. With this victory the team continued almost dream start of the Premier League as they continued being first at the table with a 6-1-1 record till now and two points more than second placed Manchester City and Liverpool. Last Tuesday, however the team suffered 2:1 loss in Champions League on the road against Dortmund and will surely be keen to get back to the winning ways as they are facing up against one of the easiest opponents in the league. Midfielder Flamini (6/0) returns into the lineup today, while winger Wilshere (9/2) remains doubtful having to pass a late fitness test after ankle injury. Podoslki, Sanogo, Walcott remain already long term injuries having no influence in this season's result.
Huge quality difference exists between these two sides. Everything other except an easy victory for the Gunners would be great surprise here, while the visitors should take the three pointer already from the first halftime, sealing the victory as quick as possible.
