Asane vs Raufoss by 20Legend
Asane are still enjoying a good season so far despite their recent obstacles that have occurred. They have 1-1-3 from their last five games, but it includes very difficult matches away from home against the two best teams in the league; Sandefjord (2-0) and Kristiansund (2-1). Asane have been stronger at home with 1-1-0 in the same period of five games a win against 14th placed Fredrikstad (3-0) and a draw against 3rd placed Levanger (1-1). Asane had a very tough task away from home last week as 11th placed Mjondalen (2-0) was their opponent. Mjondalen has been a major disappointment so far this season, but they seem to be heading upwards as they are undefeated in the last four games (1-3-0).
Despite Mjondalen’s position at the table, they still have one of the strongest squads on paper with experience from Tippeligaen last season. It was therefore no huge blow that Asane could face a loss here as it is only a matter of time before Mjondalen starts on climbing higher at the table. Midfielder Senai Hagos (11/2) is suspended tonight, but the important midfielder Joachim Soltvedt (11/3) is returning here. Asane is in 6th place on the table with 5-3-4 to show for so far.
Raufoss was starting well in OBOS-Ligen after they got promoted from 2nd Division last season. They have gotten points and played some enjoyable games with their team spirit as their biggest weapon against their opponents. However, things have not been that great in their recent games. The club has not win in seven straight games (0-2-5) which obviously have done something with the squad.
It has been written articles in the local newspaper about players being fighting inside the training ground and arguing with both each other and their coach. That is never good for a team and especially not for a team that is in Raufoss’ position. They are now in 15th place with nine points and 2-3-7 to show for. It is only two points out of the relegation zone at the moment, but it will be tough to climb the table with better opponents waiting. It was easy to spot that something was not right in the club in their last game against Jerv (0-1) at home. Raufoss’ best player, Rocky Lekaj was isolated during the whole game by Jerv’s tactical maneuvers which gave Jerv the advantage that they needed.
Lekaj got frustrated and his body language was not helping his team. His teammates was not able to produce anything either, which gave a very boring game to watch. Jerv was without three of their best players that included their two top scorers, but was still able to get the only goal. With Raufoss not being able to produce anything back, it became an easy task for Jerv to control the rest of the match and bring three points back home.
Although Asane just have experienced one win in the last five games (1-1-3) they have every chance to take another win tonight. Raufoss is currently the most struggling team in the league (0-2-3) and the morale is falling alongside the negative results. Asane have been a solid home team this season (3-2-1) and 13:6 on goal difference, while Raufoss have struggled away (0-2-4) and only 5:11 on goal difference. This is the best pick of the evening from Norwegian football in my opinion.
