Anderlecht vs PSG
Last Friday Anderlecht won away from home against Mons with a 2:0 result, without really making a great competitive performance. Instead of that, with a bit of help of luck they kept the clean sheet as the home side missed great chances to take the lead, while much more stronger and experienced visitors used their own chances to seal an easy victory later on.
In the Champions League, Anderlecht counts two defeats in first two rounds, firstly they lost 2:0 to Benfica away from home, although they were competitive during the game, while the second round saw them losing at home against Olympiakos 0:3, in a game where the Belgium side was missing chances, while the visitors from Greece were scoring goals, to be precise, Mitroglou scored all three. Coach van den Brom was more than direct in his interview, saying that they will be facing up against a team that consists of stars and can win this season's Champions League, adding that the game is a great challenge for his team. Main goalkeeper Proto remains sidelined with injury, with Kaminski continuing between the posts, while defensive midfielder Kljestan is back into the team after being rested against Mons. Attacking midfielder Vargas misses out from the start of the season, while the team should be lineup in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Mitrovic at the top of attack.
PSG, on the other side, reached 4:0 victory at home against Bastia without experiencing many problems during the game. With two goals from Ibrahimovic in the first half and two goals from Cavani in the second, the current champions of France got an easy victory over Corsicans who couldn't simply stand the pressure at such level in the match.
After a slippery start in the season, PSG finally entered their good form and are looking excellent at the moment. Victory over PSG was their fifth consecutive official three pointer, while the team is now first at the table and for the first time isn't sharing a top position together with Monaco anymore. Neither they seem to be having problems in this Champions League group as the team won first two matches and in case of a victory tonight, they would be really close to secure the ticket for the next stage. Atmosphere is excellent at the moment, while two big stars, Ibrahimovic and Cavani are doing very well their job together while the expectations are rising. Attacking midfielder Pastore (5/0) continues to be sidelined, same as defender Thiago Silva (6/0) and back Jallet (4/0). Visitors will have Thiago Motta and Marco Verratti available after serving domestic suspension last weekend.
Open game is expected, as Anderlecht will have to start searching for points in case they want to stay competitive at least for the third position in the group. PSG, on the other side, remains huge favorite here and should leave the game with more than couple of goals scored.
