Federer vs Djokovic by FairPlayBet

Roger Federer, the best tennis player of all time and also current world No.1 will meet today in finals of ATP in Cincinnati with his current biggest rival, Novak Djokovic. It is already their 29th mutual meeting. So far Roger was slightly more successful since he leads in total score with 15-13. But it is clear that in previous one and half year Serbian player had much better results. In this period Novak was better in even seven of nine matches. Looking only on this season Novak leads 2-1. He won matches on clay in Rome and on Roland Garros while Federer was better on grass in semi finals of Wimbledon. Today these two will meet for the first time in 2012 in match that will be played on hard court. And this surface IMO should be crucial for outcome of this match. For me Novak Djokovic is the best player on the ATP tour when we are talking about hardcourt.

Djokovic had weak start against Andreas Seppi but IMO he showed better form in Cincinnati then Roger Federer. Unlike Djokovic who also has played in Toronto and won the trophy there, Federer has decided to take longer break after Wimbledon and Olympic games. In his age it was expected move but maybe this will cost him now since I think he will play on highest level only when US Open starts. Every tennis expert have the same opinion that change from grass to hard court is the most difficult for players to get use on it. So only four matches for Federer on hard court after season on grass, compared with Novak's nine in my opinion is big disadvantage for world No.1.
