There is nothing new in Isner's tennis. Superb service but poor return, those are two first things that we can say about this player. In any case, although this player is not superb quality, his powerful service allows him good results no matter who is on the other side.
Tie-Break is something what is always present in his matches. In last 9 straight matches there was at least one Te-Break, and even 15 times in last 16. In most cases, there was Tie-Break in opening set (9 out of 15). So, with these stats and on these great odds, Tie-Break in first set should be profitable option. The previous time when I tried with same choice, it was on Isner's previous tour (Olympic games) in match with Janko Tipsarevic. And it was really unlucky loss but even there in London we could see by result (7-5,7-6) that this is always smart choice when Isner is on the court. Already now in Toronto, Isner has played Tie-Break in opening set in each of three previous rounds.
On the other hand, Richard Gasquet is also in quite solid form. If he repeats tennis from previous rounds, then I believe he will be equal opponent in this semi. IMO the Frenchman should not have major problems to keep his service against Isner, at least not in early stage of this match.
In two previous head to head, both times there was one Tie-Break, not in 1st set but it could be today.
