Chelsea vs Next Manager by Jamesington
Whilst this market is ever-changing in nature, favourites seem to be favourites for a couple of days or even a few hours, there has been one constant near the front of the market - the man in the job already.
Di Matteo did well to rally the troops and re-instil a team spirit into a Chelsea side who were sorely lacking in any real pride or desire. He is a former Chelsea player of excellent pedigree and there can have been no better job interview than winning the Champions League in front of Roman Abramovich in Munich.
Whilst many question Di Matteo's 'big-name status' this does not make him any less of a qualified candidate. Brendan Rogers appointment at Liverpool and Alan Pardew at Newcastle are examples of men who may not have been what the fan's were expecting in terms of status but they will (in the case of Rodgers) and have (with Pardew) proven to be successful appointments who have let their work do the talking.
The market favouritism here is generally split between Di Matteo and Guardiola. With the latter having said he is taking time off from football it would be staggering to see him go from Camp Nou straight to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Di Matteo has the job and it is his to lose so odds of 3.0 are quite incredible, snap them up while you can.
