Derry City - Shelbourne

It is played 13 rounds in Ireland, and Derry City is in 4th place with 6-3-4 in total, and 3-1-2 at home so far. The current form is good. After six games in a row without victories, Derry City has won their three last games against team at the bottom-half on the table. They advanced in the cup when they beat their local rivals Finn Harps (4-0) last Friday as well

It is likely that Stewart Greacen (defence), and their captain Kevin Deery (midfield) will be missing as their struggling with knee-injuries. Ryan McBride (defence) is suspended

Shelbourne disappointed in the derby against Bohemians in the last match. After having the lead through musch of the time, they finally lost 1-2 at home, after being reduced to ten men. Shelbourne lost 0-3 away against Sligo Rovers in the round before that. Shelbourne has got two victories away from home so far against UC Dublin and Bohemians Dublin (in the first meeting at the start of the season.). They also advanced in the cup, but needed two attempts to knock out Bray Wanderers with 1-1 on Friday, and 1-0 to Shelbourne on Monday.

Shelbourne’s manager Alen Matthews cannot bring all his best men to this match either. Lorcan Fitzgerald (defence) and Stephen Hurley (midfield) are still injured. Garret Matthews (defence) is doubtful and has to be tested in front of the match. John Sullivan (midefield) is suspended after receiving a red card in last match.

Shelbourne has not won at Brandywell since 2004. With quite a few absences and a unstable form, things should not be any easier now. I think that Derry City will keep on their good form.
