French Open vs Outright Winner by FairPlayBet
I doubt that Djokovic or Federer could be the threat for Nadal on French Open in this moment. Both, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer gave a very optimistic statement these days, but I guess they just wanted to raise their morale, while at the same time both of them are very aware that Rafa is for class above them, when we are talking about clay-court of course.
Nadal is without doubt the best player on clay court of all time. From 266 matches in total played on clay, he lost only 19. On French open, Rafa was the best player in six of last seven tournaments. The only time when he failed was in 2009. But back then he was injured and lost in early stage.
Last year Novak was able to beat Rafa couple times on clay, but on most important clay-court tournament, Novak was eliminated in SF from Federer while Nadal later won 3-1 in the final. In this season, Novak was not even close to Rafa on clay. The Spanish player had one weak tournament when he lost early. It was in Madrid when Federer won the title. But it was on now already well known blue clay which does not have too much in common with red clay.
So, Nadal in my opinion is player with far best chances this time and he is my first choice to win Roland Garros for 9 units. But, I must take one more option for minimum 1 unit stake. It is a player who is very underestimated with these odds on his win (55.00). It is a player who can't meet with Nadal before final. It is a player who has level of tennis required to beat both Federer and Djokovic. It is a player who IMO has played the closest match against Nadal on clay court in this season. It is Tomas Berdych.
Rafael Nadal, 9 units @ odds 1.90 from Betsson.
Tomas Berdych, 1 unit @ odds 55.00 from Betsson.
