Aston Villa vs Next Manager by Jamesington
While certainly an unusual market to bet on - I definitely would not recommend anyone (unless they have inside info) bet's any more than a small stake on this - I think it's one that could be quite profitable.
I was tipped off about the price available for my pick by a friend and really feel it offers incredible value. While there are no real statistics one can base this decision on, you have to go by motivation, the value is certainly enticing and due to that I would advise a small bet on the following.
Next Aston Villa Manager to be:
Claudio Ranieri - 1pt @ 21.00 Stan James
Alan Curbishley - 1pt @ 17.00 PaddyPower
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer - 1pt @ 26.00 Ladbrokes
All of the above could/would be interested in the job for different reasons and a club like Villa - ambitious, with a big history yet not at the top of their game - would suit them all.
Ranieri was quoted this evening on Sky Sports News as being "interested" in the Villa position. He is a manager who has managed at the highest level and has the good contacts to bring the extra bit of quality required to turn Villa from a club with potential to a real European contender again.
Alan Curbishley is a manager who has respect from most throughout the English footballing community, having done well with Charlton and West Ham. It has been four years now since Curbishley left West Ham and he might be ready for a new challenge.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was a fantastic player and he is turning out to be a great manager as well - winning the league in his first season in charge of Molde FK after a successful period in charge of the Man Utd reserves. Many are tipping him to take over from Sir Alex at Old Trafford and it would seem likely he would require a period in charge of a club in the Premiership before taking over such a role. If he could prove himself at Villa Park then that would be a perfect start. Solskjaer is my personal favourite pick.
