Aalesund vs Rosenborg by 20legend
Once again did Aalesund surprise us with a negative result when they lost 1-3 against Honefoss. The match was very close, but Honefoss were effective and made goals out of their chances. Aalesund on the other hand, produced a lot of chances at the end of the match, but they could not find the net which have been their problem so far this season. Aalesund have played 0-0 against Tromso and won 2-1 against Odd Grenland at home on Color Line Stadium.
One of Aalesund’s best players, Jo Nymo Matland, broke his collarbone after trying a bicycle kick at training this week, and is out for weeks. This has a major impact on Aalesund’s game here, because Jo Nymo Matland (left-back) is one of the best set-piece takers in Tippeligaen. James Leke (striker) and Kjell Rune Sellin (striker) have been out for a while, and are still out.
Rosenborg are flying up high these days, and showed their class in their last match against Tromso. After 0-0 at half-time, Rosenborg turned up the tempo and won a comfortable 3-0 victory. They beat Fredrikstad in the round before that, and Rosenborg title-ambitions are looking very good so far.
Michael Jamtfall (midfield/striker) is out with a long term injury, while John Chibuike (midfield) is out to this match after having trouble with his groin against Tromso. Rosenborg has no further injuries.
Aalesund has showed weakness in their way of playing so far. They were expected to fight within top 3 before the season, but have been disappointing. The injury of Jo Nymo Matland, and very few strikers available, is making Aalesund a weaker side than normal tonight. The injury of Rosenborg’s John Chibuike is not so important beacuase Rosenborg have replacements. It is likely to think that Rade Prica will take Chibuike’s place the starting XI. Aalesund is Rade Prica’s favourite opponent and he has scored in every game against them since he came to the club. Together with Steffen Iversen, Rosenborg has one of the most effective duos up front in Tippeligaen. Rosenborg is on a row and I think they will win against an Aalesund team that have some important injuries.
