Djokovic vs Outright Winner by FairPlayBet
This is bet Outright Winner of ATP Miami 2012, Novak Djokovic to win the tournament.
I can't remember when the last time anyone outside the top four won the Grand Slam or tournament of this Masters series. The same I expect now, so except the big 4 IMO there are no other real candidates to lift the trophy.
The current best world player Novak Djokovic is defending champion in Miami. So far he was not able to repeat all good performances from last season and already failed to defend all ATP points won in 2011. But from what I saw from him last night in first round of Miami against Marcos Baghdatis, I think he is in very nice shape at this point and should be very close to win Miami again. He is clearly in better shape than it was in Indian Wells or Dubai. Odds of 3.25 on him seems to me extremely generous. It's not only his good shape the reason for this pick but also condition of other favorites.
Andy Murray is player who can beat anyone including all three players who are in front of him. But when it is Andy in question seems that always something is missing. There was many great tournaments for him in the past but as a rule when we enter in final stages, Murray just can't win them all and at the end he was always defeated easily in final or semi-final. Also there is no need to say that he can be defeated even much earlier from some huge underdog, after all as it was recently in Indian Wells.
Rafael Nadal is current world No.2 but IMO not for long. By the current tennis of all top players, it is very expected that Nadal and Federer will replace its positions very soon. There is a great burden on the shoulders of Nadal because of too many straight defeats from Novak Djokovic. At this point I just do not see Rafa able to beat Novak. No matter what Nadal says, it is obvious that Novak's tennis is big problem for Rafa. The Spaniard so much think about Novak's dominance that seems he forgot about Roger Federer and from my angle Rafa at this point is only No.3.
Roger Federer should be the bigest threat to Novak in Miami and the bigest threat for my pick. The former world No.1 and the best tennis player of all time lost only two times in this season, from Nadal in Australia and from Isner in Davis Cup. But at this point I do not see him able to cope with Djokovic. Federer simply was too much on the court in 2012 and sooner or later this must affect on his results. After all Roger is much older from all other three from top 4 world best players. He can beat Rafa again, but IMO not also Novak.
