Swansea vs Reading by Jamesington

Labelled the "90 million pound match" by the press, this is supposedly the most valuable game in football as whoever wins it is guaranteed a place in the Premiership and the riches that come with that position.

We can also win big from this match by finding the value in the odds. The easiest way to do this is look at previous matches both between the two clubs and that they have played recently against other opponents.

When looking at precedent for THIS fixture it is clear that there is not likely to be many goals. Both fixtures the sides fought out this season ended with just one goal (both times a 1-0 victory for the Swans) and over the past two seasons they haven't had a match with over 2.5 goals in it.

Swansea have kept clean sheets in the majority of their recent games and have only conceded once against Reading in five contests (Swansea clean sheet, 4pts @ 3.25 Stan James).

With playoff matches so far having proved to be cagey affairs fought between two teams who seem to be more scared of putting a foot wrong rather than sides who are willing to throw caution to the wind, it would seem we are set for a low scoring match (even Peterborough took over 70 minutes to find the net). 5pts on Under 2.5 @ 1.6666 Blue Sq.

If the match is going to have a winner in regulation time, which is by no means a guarantee, then I reckon it could be the Welshside who have much more strength in depth than their opponents, with goals spread well throughout the side. They do have Scott Sinclair with over 20 goals but the Swans are not as reliant on him as Reading are on Shane Long. Have a low stake on the 1-0 Swansea win at 8.0 with Blue Sq.
